My husband and I love any opportunity to bring our dogs out with us! Over the years we’ve really honed in on three local breweries as our go-tos because they are so dog friendly and really embrace their canine visitors.

Prison City North

Prison City North is the brewery location for Prison City Brewing and this location is dog friendly both inside and out. On Wednesday, they do Yappy Hour from 5-7pm which is so much fun! Especially now that our dogs are seniors and a bit less reactive.

They’ve got water dishes for the dogs and a small green “off leash” spot but you’ll definitely want to keep an eye on them anyway.

My “brother” Potato at Prison City

Good to know: Most of the patio is concrete but there are some grassy spots. towards the back and side of the beer garden. I bring our dogs a blanket (that they don’t use) but it makes me feel better to know they have the option of laying on a blanket instead of the concrete.

Important to know: Prison City Pub on State Street is NOT dog friendly.

Aurora Brewing

We probably end up here twice every three weeks. We love it! Good food, great views, comfortable patio/deck, and obviously good beer. I’ve been loving the Aurora Club lately!

And Aurora Brewing is dog friendly which makes me love them even more!

Good to know: There is a lot of grassy area’s to sit. A lot of people pop in after a hike with their pups! Aurora’s new location in Tipp Hill is also dog friendly outside.

Lunkenheimer Craft Brewing

I’ll admit we don’t go to Lunkeneimer as much as we could/should! Especially with it being one town over from us in Weedsport. My go-to there is the Blood Orange Kolsch which is so good.

I don’t have a great picture of our dogs here to share but found this on Instagram👇

Good to know: Their outdoor space is paved and the indoor dog-friendly spot is kinda a garage. Also they have really tasty food!

People sometimes assume you have to live near a big city to have this kind of thing — the dog-friendly patio culture, the good local beer, the places where the staff remembers your dog's name before yours. Nope. It's all right here, one town over, twenty minutes down the lake. Grab the leash and go.
