Happy Tuesday, and happy Election Day if you haven't voted yet!
Now that Halloween is behind us, I'm officially letting myself think about December. I put together a guide to the holiday markets, parades, and festivals worth the drive this year, and it's the first thing below. After that: two weeks of things to do, and a last call for local businesses who want in on the Holiday Guide.
In this Middle of Somewhere, you'll find:

New on the blog: Holiday Markets & Festivals in Upstate New York
Fall gets most of the attention around here, but December holds its own. I rounded up the holiday markets, parades, light shows, and festivals I'm hoping to get to this year, starting in Auburn and working out to Saratoga and Lake Placid. Dickens Christmas in Skaneateles, four Saturdays of the Holiday Market at Prison City, Jingle & Mingle on the Cayuga Lake Wine Trail, and the Rochester Public Market all made the list.
Two dates to grab now: the Canandaigua Christkindl Market opens the season Nov. 13-15, and tickets for the Cayuga Museum Holiday Party on Nov. 21 have to be bought by Thursday, Nov. 12.
ATTN Business Owners: Want your shop in the Holiday Guide?

I’m building the MoS Central NY Holiday Guide, a roundup of local businesses I’d send my friends to this season. If you own a shop, own a bar/restaurant, make things or run a spot people should know about, I’d love to include you.
Deadline to join is November 13.
In the guide (so far) we have trail cameras, a psychic, and textile art!
